This can be a difficult pose for beginners so practice <a title=\"Virasana\" href=\"http:\/\/pranayoga.co.in\/asana\/virasana-hero-posture\/\">Virasana \u00a0<\/a>to prepare for this posture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2364\" src=\"http:\/\/pranayoga.co.in\/asana\/wp-content\/uploads\/Krounchasana-Heron-Pose.jpg\" alt=\"Krounchasana-Heron-Pose\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pranayoga.co.in\/asana\/wp-content\/uploads\/Krounchasana-Heron-Pose.jpg 600w, https:\/\/pranayoga.co.in\/asana\/wp-content\/uploads\/Krounchasana-Heron-Pose-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pranayoga.co.in\/asana\/wp-content\/uploads\/Krounchasana-Heron-Pose-100x75.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<p><strong>Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sit in <a title=\"Dandasana\" href=\"http:\/\/pranayoga.co.in\/asana\/dandasana-staff-posture\/\">Dandasana<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Bend your left leg and place the left foot near the left hips with the toes pointing back (just like <a title=\"Virasana\" href=\"http:\/\/pranayoga.co.in\/asana\/virasana-hero-posture\/\">Virasana \u00a0<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Make sure both the hips are on the ground, if not then place a folded blanket or a block under your right hips so that the hips are leveled.<\/li>\n<li>Bend your right knee and hold the right foot (ankle, shin bone or thigh depending on your flexibility ), now try to straighten the right knee. Keep your spine straight and chest open.<\/li>\n<li>If possible bind your left wrist with the right hand.<\/li>\n<li>Try to bring your chin towards the shin bone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Modifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use a strap if you cannot reach your foot. You can also hold your ankle calves or thigh depending on your flexibility.
